Roastery Renovation Week 5 - Bringing the Vision to Life
Share
In Week 5 of our roastery renovation, the space is truly starting to come together. We’re excited to share the latest updates on our journey.
Finishing Touches and New Installations
The arrival of our wooden countertops marks a significant milestone. They’re now beautifully installed at our coffee bar and bathroom, and we’ve crafted a tasting table from the same wood to complete the look. This cohesive touch adds a warm, rustic charm to our roastery.
Roaster Relocation
A major event this week was the successful relocation of our coffee roaster. A skilled team came in to uninstall it from our coffee shop and set it up in its new roastery home. Seeing it now in its dedicated space, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re officially a coffee roastery!
Storage and Packaging Enhancements
We’ve also made strides in organizing our space. Shelving for our green beans and buckets of roasted beans is now in place, and a new packaging station has been set up for Shaun. This setup will streamline the packaging process and ensure our beans are prepared with care and efficiency.
Staircase and Garden Improvements
Our new staircase has received its final layer of treatment. The rainy weather has proven to be a blessing, helping the staircase cure more slowly and thoroughly, which will result in a stronger finish. The next step will be installing safety railings to meet all code requirements.
In the garden, we’ve made some exciting changes. Fresh grass has been laid under the trees, and we’ve found a creative use for a pile of old bricks by building a charming pathway to our new parking lot. We also decided to renovate the lower part of the garden, turning it into a private parking space with wood chips. Our lemon trees have been repositioned to form a natural barrier for the parking area, adding both functionality and greenery.
Looking Ahead
As we look forward, we’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of our new long table for the bricked area next week. Additionally, the tables for the patio are in the works, designed to match the interior countertops and offer customers a pleasant spot to enjoy their coffee while overlooking the garden.
Reflecting on our progress since Week 1 (read here), we’re overjoyed to see our vision becoming a reality. Each step brings us closer to creating a space that reflects our passion for coffee and community. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey!
